No staining. Same science.

Methylene Blue Ultra vs
Troscriptions

Troscriptions "Just Blue" is the category leader — but it has one persistent problem that Reddit won't let it forget. Here's the honest comparison.

The Staining Problem Troscriptions Has

Troscriptions uses sublingual troches — the troche dissolves under your tongue or in your cheek. The result: methylene blue (which is an intense blue dye) stains your mouth, tongue, and teeth for 2–6 hours. This is the #1 complaint across Reddit's r/Nootropics and r/Biohacking communities.

This isn't a bug they can fix without changing their delivery mechanism. Methylene blue is blue. Buccal absorption means it contacts oral tissue. Staining is the physics of the format.

"The staining is ridiculous. I look like I ate blue Kool-Aid for half the day."

On the Bioavailability Question

Troscriptions claims higher bioavailability via buccal absorption. This is plausible in theory — buccal delivery bypasses first-pass liver metabolism. However, there are no published head-to-head studies comparing buccal MB troches directly to oral MB capsules.

What we do know: oral aqueous methylene blue has ~72% absolute bioavailability (Schirmer et al., 2011, Clinical Pharmacokinetics). This is clinically significant absorption. The claimed advantage of sublingual delivery is theoretical, not clinically demonstrated for this specific compound.

Methylene Blue Ultra achieves therapeutic plasma concentrations via the oral route — no staining required.
